Riley ignored Chase's whining behind him. He could still feel his anger seething at Elizabeth, but it was subsiding after the slap. "Piece of advice, think before you speak. People don't take lightly to being insulted out here." Riley said monotone. Riley was beginning to wonder why he bothered to bring them out here at all, but knew he couldn't have just left them in the Fog. Riley was about to help Elizabeth up, or at least offer help when he heard shouting from outside. Riley left Elizabeth staring at him from the floor and ran to the front door. He threw it open and ran out to the porch. He saw some people rushing to the edge of town.

 Riley waved to a few familiar faces as he walked into town. He got some strange looks from his choice of company, but no one said anything outright. Riley knew not many people would question him directly though, he had plenty of goodwill here. Riley dragged his kill down the road, and stopped when someone shouted his name. "Yo, Riley!" Riley recognized the voice. "Hey Greg, just who I was looking for. Got something I want you cook up." "Well I can see that, I may be old but my eyes aren't that bad."  Riley waited for Elizabeth to climb back into the front and leave him and Chase alone. Riley sprang forward covering the small distance between him and Chase and grabbed Chase's wrist and forced the gun off to the side. Riley had counted on Chase feeling cocky because of the weapon, and Chase hadn't disappointed. Riley socked Chase in the gut, the gun fired off erratically behind him. Riley heard the windows shatter behind him and felt a few bits of glass bounce off his back.  Riley ran away from the gates. He knew some of the soldiers were trying to give chase, but he knew they wouldn't be able to keep up with him on foot. He ducked back into the alleyways and kept going until he felt safe enough to stop and think. Riley leaned against the wall of the alley, and knocked his helmet against the wall. "What now? What now?" He asked himself. He had planned on just running out into the Fog, but he never thought anyone would come into the Fog to shut the gates behind him. If he had been standing back a little more he would have been crushed or trapped between the gates. It was a closer call then he would have liked,

  Riley walked into the holding area, hundreds of cots were set up everyone with a prone figure on them. As Riley walked in every cot occupant near him sat up and looked to him in unison. "I really wish they'd stop doing that, it's creepy." Riley looked out at the rows of faces, all the heads shaven, just enough clothes to cover their shame, but not much else, and the dull, simple eyes. "Don't worry, I'll get you all out of here and out where you belong." Riley assured them. He ran down the aisles and got everyone up and on their feet. The crowd fell in behind him, they always did. Riley tugged and scratched at his side, but the fog suit's material didn't transfer much of the feeling through. He squirmed some more and longed to take the damned thing off, but it made for too good a disguise, so he just put up with it for now. He made his focus finding the others, rescuing them. Riley felt lost in the mess of alleys and buildings all packed into the dome. He knew the holding area would be near the edge of the dome to make it easier to pipe in Fog, but the city was still too big to just run a lap around until he found the place. He took a deep breath and calmed his mind. Riley let his instincts take over, and felt the tug.

 The roar of the fans was deafening in the small concrete room. Riley felt like he was going to be lifted off his feet as the fans in the ceiling sucked out every last wisp of the outside Fog and the vents in the floor pumped in the processed 'safe' air from inside the city's dome. The entire decontamination process took twice as long as was needed. Riley sighed and fogged up the visor of his helmet a bit. He was getting antsy, but he knew it wouldn't do him any good.
